1 in 292 Million is an in-depth exploration of lottery systems in America, examining the structure and impact of the Powerball lottery. Through data analysis and visualization, our project investigates the financial and social effects of the lottery, highlighting its role in society and its influence on different communities. Our project includes a 5-page broadsheet, a mobile site, and stickers.

We expanded the broadsheet into an interactive microsite that reframes lottery statistics through visual storytelling, revealing how statistically improbable it is to win any meaningful prize.

We also designed a series of stickers as a form of guerrilla marketing, giving people another simple, visual way to understand just how slim the odds of winning the lottery really are.
